About Michelle Lewis
I'm always thinking about stuff and not paying enough attention to what's going on around me. But I'm working on that. I also love connecting people and things, so I guess you could say I actually like networking.
I also like working remotely, with my two cats as company. (I talk, they listen. Sometimes they answer. Usually when they want food.) If I need face-to-face human contact, I'll go get a latte, or see friends, or bug the pool guy. Otherwise, I'm on Slack or Zoom or FaceTime, talking to people in New York, San Francisco, London, Glasgow, Paris and Sydney.
I am an experienced and versatile digital journalist with senior PR and marketing experience who has worked for both startups and traditional media. I've got one foot in St. Petersburg, Florida, and the other foot in the U.K.
I currently work for the 9to5Group as an editor and writer. I write about clean energy and climate change for Electrek. I also consulted for the National Council for the Training of Journalists in the U.K., where one of my proudest moments was helping to secure £4 million to create 80 community journalism jobs across Britain. I have written and edited for Fast Company, News Deeply, the Guardian, TIME, Entertainment Weekly, Microsoft, Avaaz, Archant, and The Hotel Culture, among others.
Some of my PR clients have included Remy Martin, Diageo, Potocki vodka, myhotels, InterContinental London Park Lane, Gleneagles, the Dorchester Collection and Mycroburst.
I have a nutty husband who is above, and a daughter at Florida State University.
I also love peanut butter. I mean, unnaturally so.
